Robert

Robert My name is Robert and I attend Thursday’s day service at Headway. In October 2010 I had a brain haemorrhage when I was in the house by myself. I collapsed and couldn’t remember anything for four days. I was told by the consultant that I was very lucky to be alive. My consultant referred me to Headway and I’ve been coming to Thursday day service ever since, which I love.

I do IT, yoga, keep fit, music therapy and I like to get involved in fundraising opportunities too to try to give something back. I also had counselling at Headway which really helped me. My consultant is amazed at how far I have come along since my brain haemorrhage.

I really love Headway and enjoy it so much because when I see other people who come here and hear about their injuries and see how well they get on and improve, I find it amazing. I have really benefited from attending Headway and my confidence has really increased – I now feel confident to leave the house and bring the dog for a walk on my own and have started going to football again.

I am really grateful to all the staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication they put in.
