Headway Belfast

We help rebuild lives after brain injury. We offer services to enhance social and physical development.

Headway is the only charity solely dedicated to providing support and information to survivors of brain injury, their families and carers.  Currently we cover the Greater Belfast, Lisburn, Newtownards and more recently Downpatrick Area's.  Don't worry if you don't fall under our catchment area, we have support groups dotted throughout Northern Ireland.

We offer day service for survivors of brain injury as well as a community outreach programme known as STAR (Social Training and Rehabillitation). Day service offers service users the opportunity to take part in a range of therapies including art, music and drama. There are also facilities for individuals to improve their IT and cookery skills. The STAR programme is a community based project for up to 10 individuals who are keen to take part in day to day recreational activities such as bowling and eating out. All services are geared towards improving self esteem, confidence and skill development.

All service users have the opportunity to avail of assessment by Headway's Neurological Physiotherapist and gym. A free counselling service is also offered to family members and carers.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about Headway Belfast, acquired brain injuries or our services.
