It was a case of 'back to school' for us as we were invited along to the morning assembly at Academy Primary School in Saintfield.
Principal, Mr Moore invited Headway Belfast along to the morning assembly to meet with some of the pupils and give a brief presentation on the charity they recently helped to raise money for.
The school held a non-uniform day in aid of Headway Belfast and along with Caroline Patterson, friend of Headway who recently took part in our charity abseil at Victoria Square, raised an impressive £725.00.
A big thank you to Mr Moore, the staff and of all the pupils for their fundraising. |

A massive well done to the Physiotherapy students at University of Ulster, Jordanstown campus, who earlier this week cycled 480 miles in total to raise money for Headway Belfast.
43 students took part in the demanding physical challenge which saw them cycle the equivalent of the circumference of Northern Ireland, and then some!

Kathryn Murray, one of the organisers of the event said she’s delighted that they exceeded their initial target of 400 miles: “We had great support this year and it’s fantastic that we managed to do almost 100 miles more than we had initially set out to do, having the imaginary route mapped out was a great incentive too, it really demonstrated just how far we’d actually cycled – there will definitely be some sore legs tomorrow!”
You can still sponsor the students on their justgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/PhysiotherapyUUJ or text PHYS99 £2 (or £5, £10) to 70070. |
