A real investment

We’ve become the latest group in Northern Ireland to achieve the IiV colour

Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard, recognising the excellent

standard of work we do with volunteers.

Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for all organisations involving volunteers which aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and demonstrates that organisations value the enormous contribution made by their volunteers. Investing in Volunteers is delivered by the four national volunteering infrastructure bodies, Volunteering England, Volunteer Development Scotland, Volunteer Now in Northern Ireland and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

Rachel Evans, Project and Volunteer Coordinator is delighted to be awarded the Volunteers Quality Standard Award which demonstrates Headway Belfast’s commitment to its volunteers.

Investing in Volunteers is unique in that it is the only standard that focuses on volunteers. It is based on four areas of volunteer management; planning for volunteer involvement, recruiting volunteers, selecting and matching volunteers and supporting and retaining volunteers. “Thank you to all volunteers who contributed to the achievement of the award.  We have over 40 volunteers registered with Headway Belfast all of which are exceptionally dedicated – Headway Belfast not only value but rely on the support of our volunteers and without their commitment, enthusiasm and dedication we could not carry out the services we do and I’m delighted that our commitment to providing quality opportunities for volunteering has been demonstrated in this award.”

Sandra Adair, Investing In Volunteers Manager for Northern Ireland said “Headway Belfast was assessed against a range of best practice standards and proved to excel in all aspects of working with its volunteers. Volunteer Now is delighted to announce Headway Belfast‘s successful achievement of this Award, they have demonstrated a real commitment to volunteering, proven that their volunteer management policies and procedures meet nationally recognised standards.”
