Art Exhibition in Support of local Brain Injury Charity

A new exhibition in support of Headway, the local brain injury charity will launch on November 11th at Canvas Art Gallery on Stranmillis Road, Belfast. A cross section of one hundred local artists such as Tim Weir, Leo Casement and George Henry Smith, have been commissioned to produce 200 orginal pieces of art for the "Christmas 200" exhibition which will feature both well estabalished and emerging artists. Each original piece of art will retail at £250 with the profit going to support the work of Headway, which provides support for acquired brain injury survivors and their families after release from hospital.

The charity helps people to readjust to life after head injury and rebuild social skills through a range of social activities and therapies.

Fiona McCabe, CEO of Headway, welcomes the exhibition. She said "We are delighted that  Canvas Art Gallery have chosen to partner with Headway. At Headway we aim to improve the quality of life for survivors of brain injury through a range of therapies including art therapy, so it is very fitting that the sale of locally commissioned art will help us raise funds to reach even more people in need of our services'.
