Headway - Yoga Programme |
|
Thanks to Diageo and the Telecommunity Fund, Headway Belfast have introduced a new yoga programme for survivors of Acquired Brain Injury. Our new yoga instructor, Heather Portig along with our neuro-physiotherapist, has designed an exercise programme to suit users and service users are really enjoying the new activity.
Yoga practices can be adapted to suit any number of illness or injury, meaning it is perfect for survivors of brain injury. It not only provides gentle exercise and movement but has been associated with elevated mood, perceptions of better health and cognitive therapy in the form of sequential processing.
An outreach yoga session is held in Drumaness monthly with Lisa Wells.
